Located near the airport and the city of Zagreb, hotel Garden Hill offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience, whether traveling for business or leisure. This family-owned, 4-star hotel has 60 rooms, a wellness center, a restaurant, a bar, and conference rooms, providing a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that attracts both individual travelers and larger groups.

Hotel Garden Hill is run by two brothers, Domagoj and Matija Vrban, who took over the business from their father, continuing the family’s long-standing tradition in tourism. The hotel officially opened at the end of 2017 and currently has around 20 employees divided into several departments: reception, housekeeping, catering, kitchen, sales, and administration.
We had the opportunity to speak with Domagoj Vrban, the director of hotel operations. Despite having around 20 employees, both Domagoj and Matija often help out with daily tasks.

Reasons Behind Implementing the Rentlio Pro System

Thanks to the integrated Channel Manager, hotel Garden Hill now achieves maximum occupancy without worrying about overbooking or errors in managing OTA channels. Domagoj also highlighted that implementing the Rentlio Booking Engine significantly increased the share of direct bookings. Since using the Rentlio Pro system and Booking Engine, the share of direct bookings has tripled compared to the previous system.

The statistics and reporting module, accessible with just a few clicks, plays a crucial role for someone managing the hotel’s operational processes. Getting detailed insights into business performance makes it easier to understand key business KPIs.

“I observe the statistics module daily, and it’s beautifully organized. We use occupancy, sales, and revenue data for strategic planning and decision-making. Thanks to the timely data, we can adapt to market changes easily on a daily or weekly basis.”

The ability to track offers and control reservations enables hotel staff to monitor and communicate with partner agencies, reducing the number of canceled reservations and significantly impacting the hotel’s overall profit. With Rentlio Pro, the hotel has fewer cancellations because now they can contact users and partners (agencies) to check the status of expired offers. Before implementing Rentlio Pro, feedback was often missing.

Integration with an external revenue management system, Price Labs, has significantly simplified pricing planning and optimization. “The integration with external revenue management software won me over completely,” says the director of hotel operations, highlighting the importance of these functionalities for business optimization.

But Rentlio Pro is not only for the management department. Domagoj also mentioned the satisfaction of the reception department, where the ability to scan guest documents and register them in the eVisitor system speeds up the check-in process by up to three times. 

Additionally, the housekeeping functionality that tracks the cleanliness and maintenance status has sped up work and communication between the reception and housekeeping departments. As Domagoj says, “the physical notebook at the reception has been replaced by a digital one” that everyone can access at any time.
